Fitz Turner Commission for Human Relations & Civil Rights Awards Program

The Fitz Turner Commission for Human Relations & Civil Rights presents three awards designed to promote positive human relationships in the education community and to encourage leadership development. They are: The Fitz Turner award for outstanding contributions in intergroup relations; the Mary Hatwood Futrell Award for distinguished leadership; and the Youth Award for human relations and civil rights. The NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence Award is presented jointly by the National Education Association and The NEA Foundation for the Improvement of Education with additional support from Horace Mann Educators Corporation. More
The VEA Friend of Education Award
The Friend of Education Award is bestowed upon any person or organization whose leadership, acts, and support on the state-wide level have proven that person or organization to be a true friend of education, educators, or students in Virginia. More
